ARSHAVIN: ZENIT MAJOR HONOURS REVEALED

Ex-Arsenal attacker Andrei Arshavin was a big part of the seven major honourswon during his time at Zenit Saint Petersburg in the Russian Premier League. Andrei Arshavin was one of the most important players for Zenit as they won seven major titles while he was on the playing rooster at the club.

Andrei Arshavin had three separate spells before he called it quit with professional football. He spent ten years in his first spell with the Zenit first team and the club won five major trophies during that time. He was sent on loan to Zenit from Arsenal in 2012 for his second spell at the club. Arshavin spent his third and final spell as a Zenit player over a period of two years, from 2013 to 2015.

In his first Zenit spell, Andrei Arshavin won the one Russian Premier League title, one Russian Premier League Cup title, one Russian Super Cup title, One UEFA Cup title and one UEFA Super Cup title. Arshavin has previously stated that the 2008 UEFA Cup final was one of the best moments of his career as he helped Zenit to the title via a 2-0 win over Scottish side Rangers. Igor Denisov and KostantinZyryanov scored in the last 20 minutes on the way to the win over the team from Scotland. Pavel Pogrebnyak and Danny scored a goal each either side of the half-time interval to lead Zenit to a 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the 2008 UEFA Super Cup. Serbian defender Nemanja Matic scored the lone goal for the Red Devils.

For his second spell at Zenit, Arshavin added another Russian Premier League title to his trophy haul at the end of the 2011/12 season. Andrei Arshavin was an Arsenal loanee when he won his second league title in Russia.

A third Russian Premier League title happened for Arshavin at the end of the 2014/15 season.
